2017 – The New Year is the time to enjoy winter’s natural wonders on Mt. Tam and in Muir Woods. Look for spawning salmon – ask a Muir Woods ranger where to look – mushrooms displays, and more.
Spring-fed waterfalls, lush green meadows and mountain wildflowers are found this time of year on Mt. Tamalpais. Red-tailed Hawks fly above our decks and this is the season they begin mating and nest building. This is accompanied by spectacular aerial displays: circling and soaring to great heights in our sky above, they fold their wings and plummet to treetop level.
